Practical training in sea survival and evacuation from a vessel or platform, mandatory for offshore wind energy personnel.

The course covers theory on evacuation procedures at sea, plus practical pool exercises — using life jackets and life rafts, behaviour in water, and group survival techniques.

Evacuation procedures
How to respond during an emergency evacuation from a vessel or platform.
Survival equipment
Use of life jackets, life rafts and signalling equipment.
Behaviour in water
Heat-conservation techniques, group survival principles, and helping colleagues in the water.
Requirements for participants
- Minimum age of 18
- Good swimming ability
- Medical certificate confirming fitness for physical activity in water
Certification
On completion of the course, participants are issued a GWO BST Sea Survival certificate, registered in the GWO WINDA database. Valid for 24 months.
